    • What's the best number of hidden layers?

      Hello,

I know it's a tough issue to predict a stock prices but here are my project and problems:
First, I've trained the Network by providing 4 inputs (Open,Hight,Low,Close) and the expected output (Open,High,Low,Close) of the next period. I've ranged the prices by dividing them by 100 to be in the range (0-1). I didn't get fine results so far but I have some questions:
1- The error becomes static after some training trials. Why?
2- What's the best number of hidden layers?

      Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.

    • Have others come across this problem?

      Hello,

I happened to have the calculation for a common slow stochastic in a spreadsheet, and decided to see if the calculation matched the values provided by a number of technical analysis websites.

The stochastic value exactly matched the same stochastic on Google Finance and Stockcharts, but not Yahoo Finance. Have others come across this problem? The difference is minor but it makes one wonder how they are calculating some of the indicators. The high, low, and close data are from Yahoo Finance. The example was a slow stochastic for AT & T stock. The parameters were 14.3.3 in all cases.

      Please help.

I did not find the right solution from the internet.

    • can you suggest another option?

      Hello,

I am hoping that a derivatization expert will see my post. I have a cis-diol compound, specifically 3-chloropropane-1,2-diol (3-MCPD, 3-monochloro propane diol).

The matrix is an aqueous biological medium with nutrients, buffers etc. I want to analyze by GC-MS, and I will need to derivatize.

My first thought was to make a phenylboronic acid derivative, (phenylboronate), but I am not limited to this option.

Does anyone have experience with making PBA derivatives, or can you suggest another option?

      Please help.

    • video drivers of most or all new distros would have this problem?

      Hello,

Some background information; I had several Mint 18.3 systems that ran well but I wanted to install Mint 19. To make a long story short, one system with an nvidia card seemed to work ok with a new install of 19 x64 Cinnamon but sometimes new windows would be scrambled. I then installed Mint 19x64 Xfce and it was more solid, but it too would sometimes scramble windows and rarely the entire screen.

The Mint 19 x32 Cinnamon cd did not work at all on an older Toshiba Satellite with an Intel video card. Mint 19 32 XFCE mostly works, but it also sometimes scrambles new windows.
The question: Is the flow of video drivers within Mint from Ubuntu down the line so that all Ubuntu derivatives would have the same problems on this hardware? Or is the flow such that the video drivers of most or all new distros would have this problem?

      Please help.

    • Has anyone had a similar problem?

      Hello,

I have a problem with java applet charts on some share websites. In all the versions up to 3.6.23 it was working ok and now it is not displaying charts just in some cases instead of the applet I see only the source code of the page containing it.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

      Please help.

    • Can anyone more knowledgeable talk me through this?

      Hello,

I'll try to be brief. some of you know we are looking at moving investments from ML, selling some things and buying low cost Vanguard index funds. Woo-hoo!
I know I can not beat anything, I know it. But there IS a bad time to buy, especially to put a huge amount of money in. Can we rely on technical analysis to help us see this?
I know very, very little about technical analysis. I know that this little knowledge has not led me wrong so far, maybe it's luck. Based on what I know, entering the market right now, particularly in high volume, does not look good. Specifically I looked at VTI, VTSMX, VSPMX, VBMFX.
I would not even look at the charts, if they are not as darn high, but they are, and as far as I can tell, the charts aren 't promising that it's a good time to enter.
Can anyone more knowledgeable talk me through this?
      Please help.

    • Does anyone know how reliable it is to an indicator to buy or sell?

      Hello,

I've seen segments discussing technical analysis on CNBC news shows like Fast Money, but do not quite get their concepts or terminology. Does anyone know how reliable it is to an indicator to buy or sell? There seems to be a cottage industry about professional technical analysts that break down charts to predict future movements. Does it really work?

      Please help.

    • how you learned about financial statement analysis ??

      Hello,

I am becoming interested in financial statements - it's actually quite fun when you begin to see how things fit together within a statement or across different statements. I remember when I was at university people thought that accountancy is really boring, but it does not seem to be that way to me now! So I was wondering how you learned about financial statement analysis and whether you have some books / courses to suggest: the more fun they are, the better!

      Please help.
